(PHOTOS) List Of Private Jets In Goodluck Jonathan's Presidential Air Fleet

Inspite of the economic meltdown facing many nations and the dwindling price of oil in the global market, it is quite funny and amazing to me that the Nigerian Federal Government under the administration of President Goodluck Jonathan would spend a whooping sum of money annually to maintain eleven private jets.

Two Falcon 900 Jets

estimated $35. I don't think Nigeria bought a new one.

One Boeing 737 BBJ

One Hawke Siddeley 125-800

You can do the maths of the overall cost. Nigeria spends over $58.57m (9.08bn naira) annually to maintain this Presidential Air Fleet (PAF). And a budget was submitted to the National assembly for another private jet. The jet costs 1.52bn naira. Na only God go help Naija!

What is wrong with this picture?

What is wrong with this picture?

Your guess is as good as mine:
Women loaded on a "Goods Only" tagged vehicle.

That's one of the effects of the Boko Haram menace in the northern part of Nigeria.

The vehicle is probably the only means of transportation available to the women in their flee from terror.

Man Rears Crocodiles, Snakes, Others At His Lagos Residence

The Lagos State Government has shut down a building located at 13, Alhaji Abass Street, off Adebowale Street, Ojodu-Berger where dangerous animals such as crocodiles, snakes and others are being reared.

According to the government, the building, was shut for illegally breeding dangerous and wild animals such as panther, water snake, giant eagle, crocodiles and others.

The property occupied  by Mr. John  Adekanbi was discovered by officers of the Ministry of the Environment who were carrying out House-to-House Awareness Campaign during the state monthly environmental sanitation exercise in the area.

The site has been sealed off and and the animals moved to Messrs Origin Garden Zoo.

The question that remains unanswered in my head is "what was his intention behind keeping such wild animals?"

Woman Buys Twins For 1.9m naira

The Lagos State Police Command, have arrested a 52-year old woman identified as Mrs. Olamide Bello for allegedly buying twin babies for N1.9 million.

Findings has it that the suspect who resides at 8, Adeniji Street, Meiran, a suburb of Lagos State, with her husband and step-children, told her husband, Mr. Wasiu Bello, that she was pregnant and that she has been instructed to go and deliver of the baby in Port Harcourt.

Mrs. Bello was alleged to have spent two weeks in Port Harcourt before returning to Lagos with twin babies, a boy and a girl, claiming that she gave birth to them.

Curious neighbours who never saw her with pregnancy prior to her trip to Port Harcourt alerted the police at due to their suspicions that the woman may have stolen the babies.

Sources said the Divisional Police Officer in charge of Alakuko Police Station, Mr. Musa Alimi, a Chief Superintendent of Police, CSP, instructed some female detectives to investigate the allegation.

Police detectives were despatched to her residence to investigate the issue. She was taken to a hospital where test(s) were run on her which confirmed that she is not the biological mother of the babies.

At that point she had to confess that she bought the babies in Port Harcourt for N1.9 million.

The case has already been transferred to the Lagos State Criminal Investigation Department, SCID, Smith Street, Panti, Lagos State.

TORN POSTERS

By Elizabeth Alaine

All around my vicinity,
Litters the reminders of lost victory and won battles.
In the clouds lay their heart gripping promises.
The sound of cheers and echoes of wails fill the atmosphere.
The dog have finally been put to sleep,
No one knows its awakening.
The heat of passion freezes in the cold hands of reality.
The sun of a new dawn has set,
There is a new name in town.
Stamping feet and folded hands,
Expectations are near explosion.
The silent room is filled with celebration and mourning.
The hustlers are back on track.
The feared future is now past
Decorum rules.
The prayer of the righteous receives light.
There is peace.
The confused and convinced become spectators.
Walking in the street,
Counting the roofs,
Hope has found home in our hearts.
The stars are glancing at the sun.
The memories are fast fading.
All I see are Torn Posters

Gov. Romtimi Amaechi Is Not Willing To Handover

Yea, the title says it all.
That is the allegation Peoples' Democratic Party (PDP) is leveling against the incumbent governor of Rivers State.

According to the River States PDP chairman, Felix Obuah, the governor has exhibited a lack of readiness to handover on May 29th. This can be seen in his failure to set up a Transition Committee to interface with the Transition Committee inaugurated by the governor-elect, Barr. Nyesom Wike.

The chairman also accused him of gross failure in his administration.
In his words, "How can Amaechi explain the failed monorail project, the Justice Karibi Whyte Hospital of over 50 million US Dollars?”

He further asked to Amaechi explain the demolition of primary schools across the state without rebuilding them, noting that, abandoned projects littered the state as well as the non payment of civil servants and pensioners salaries and allowances.

He also accused him of wasting over N5bn to fund the All Progressives Congress, APC structure and owing billions of unpaid loans.

If these allegations are true, then the new administration really has a lot of unfinished work to do.

It's Sunday again!

By Chukwunonso Nwagbo

It's Sunday again!
A day when we open our wardrobes to get robed in the best of regalia.
A day of who is who in the fashion industry.
A day when decency robes off on the multitude.

It's Sunday again!
A day when many dusts their Bibles.
Most sacred book of all, least read book by all.
Alas! That Holy book will see the light again.

It's Sunday again!
A day set aside for rest and reference to the Most High,
Coincidentally the day people gets high the most on Alcohol and hard drugs.
A day when the bartender makes his highest sales.
And it makes me wonder how many heard the preacher's words.

It's Sunday again!
A day supposedly termed the "white and Holy day".
A day when white lies achieves his biggest feat.
Oh! That colourful day of hypocrisy.

It's Sunday again!
Fewer persons in the church,
More seats occupied in the bars.
Gyration and celebration fills the clubs,
A few hands clap to the Lord.

It's Sunday again!
A day when Irony, the mother of mischief sings her songs of pretence.
The same scarce hands that clapped to the Lord,
Hardly fails to join others in raising bottles and glasses to the god of beer.

It's Sunday again!
That special day when rice gets honoured the most.
While our other precious delicacies gets shoved away like a host of motes.

It's Sunday again!
Robed in white and purple flowing garments of shame,
A day when our National thieves brings a fraction of the loot to the church.
That rare day when they step into the sanctuary with a hope of receiving grace to evade the mortuary.

It's Sunday again!
That sweet and precious day when my Heavenly Father should be gloried,
How greatly sour has her sweetness turned.

Oh poor Sunday!
That beautiful day when the brothel gets patronisers to the full.
And the prostitutes rejoices and shouts for joy.
While the heart of our Lord remains heavy with sorrow.

My dear Sunday,
I will tell of thy sacredness,
I will tell of thy rest,
I will ring it like a bell in the ears of mortal men.
I pray they will hear and repent.
I pray they will honour you.
I pray decency will rub off from you to your sisters.
I pray that we shall come to the reality of the importance of your God and imprint His words dearly in our hearts.

Oh sweet Sunday.
In solemnity of heart,
Have I thus declared.

20-year-old Scottish Student Emerges As Britain Youngest Lawmaker

When I saw this news, the first thing that came to my mind was the thought of the 60 to 75 years old Nigerian politicians who have refused to either relinquish power or die to pave way for younger and fresher generations to rule the nation.

UK has a youth friendly parliament and constitution as well as old men who respect their old ages. That is why the 20-year-old Mhairi Black fought her way through as the British youngest lawmaker since 1667.

Prior to his victory, the youngest lawmaker ever in the British parliament was Christopher Monck who assumed the office at a very young age of 13 in 1667.
He is a true leader of tomorrow.

Nigeria needs serious prayers and orientation to achieve such a great feat.

The just concluded British general elections also put smiles on the faces of Nigerians in the diaspora as four Nigerians won four Parliament seats.

Arrested Robber Claims It Was Polite Robbing

Lol. Whites can be very funny.A 23 year old American robber, Dominyk Antonio Alfonseca, walked into a Town Bank in Virginia Beach on Monday and passed the teller a note to "please" hand over $150,000 (£98,000) in bonds.

He recorded the incident which he later posted online alongside the photo of the note.

The video show the teller stacking money into the gym bag which he handed over to her.The note allegedly read: "Police take 3 to 4 minutes to get here, I would appreciate if you Ring the alarm a minute after I am gone… make sure the money doesn't BLOW UP ON MY WAY OUT. :-)".

He was later caught and jailed.

In his defense in a jailhouse interview he said he didn’t commit any crime, afterall he asked for the money politely.

Na wa o.Please what do you think?

Four Nigerians Emerges As Lawmakers In Britain

Who says Nigerians are not representing us well outside the shores of our Nation has definitely not heard about these Fantastic Four.

Chuka Harrison Umunna, Helen Grant, Chi Onwurah and Kate Osamor won a British parliament seat each in the just concluded United Kingdom general elections.

Umunna is a member of the British Labour Party and has been a member of Parliament (MP) since
2010.

Another Nigerian, Grant, a lawyer, born on September 1961, won her seat under the British Conservative Party. She is the current Member of Parliament for Maidstone and The Weald in Kent and the current Minister for Sport, Tourism & Equalities. She was elected at the 2010 general election, replacing the constituency’s previous incumbent,
Ann Widdecombe, who had decided to step down as an MP.

Grant was the first black woman to be selected to defend a Tory seat and her election made her the
Conservatives’ first female black MP.

Onwurah won her seat under the British Labour Party. She was elected at the 2010 general election as the Member of Parliament for Newcastle upon Tyne Central, replacing the previous Labour MP
Jim Cousins, who decided to step down and left the seat. She is Newcastle’s first black MP.

Another Labour Party member, Osamor is the representative of Edmonton constituency in London. She won the seat after stiff contest with fellow diasporan Kate Anolue.

Indeed, Nigerians are fighting tigers who stamp their feet in the sands of time wherever they find themselves.

The Cyber Deception

Cyber life can be really fun. It's a world of its own that creates its own realities. It gives us things and helps us travel far beyond the horizon above the boundaries of our wide imaginations.

It's only on social media that one can own a house in Lekki and Ikoyi, drives a Toyota Camry, receives a salary of over 350 grand monthly and yet in reality he can't afford a bicycle.

It's only on social media that a girl would take a shot in Accra, another in Lagos, one with a photo shopped celebrity and most times her face would be so spotless that you won't even know that she has eleven tribal marks and spots which makes them look like a football team.

The cyber world has an ocean of pleasure where you can swim in to your fill. A guy who haven't really had enough of his daily bread would come online and tell a girl that his money grows like grass and he is willing to lavish the grass on him. I call that deception.

What inspired this post was what I saw last night on Facebook. I was checking the profile of a friend that I know TOO WELL. I know him to a very large extent. His conduct and behaviours in the neighbourhood is something everyone knows and detests. He's one of the most annoying guy you would ever want to hang out with. Nonetheless, he is cool to me because we are friends.

I was surprised to come online on Facebook only to see so many religious stuff on his wall. He appeared so much like a Christian and has so many Christian friends that one would easily mistake him for a Reverend Father. Like seriously, this guy appeared like a saint that was dropped directly from heaven. I'm sure some of there friends there might have one time or the other called him "Bro".

This irony of this godly description plays from my knowledge of him, he has a PhD in the art of deception. His entire Facebook profile was a camouflage of his real self. He is a real lover of violence and women as against the Lord Jesus whom he profess who is a lover of peace and sanctity. It really got me thinking.

It's unfortunate that this cyber deception has eaten into the very fabrics of the lives of many. These days we hear stuff like: Social life, Cyber life, Christian life, Club life and all sorts of lives. And I begin to imagine if it is possible for one person with one body and only one beating heart to have up to four different lives. Hmmm.

Has life lost so much worth that it has turned to a China phone which have four different batteries, such that if one runs down, you will still have another to use? Lol.

This change of life like battery has really caused a lot of psychological damages to a lot of youths who were caught off-guard by the deception thereof. I have actually fallen victim of it too. It has caused me a lot, even financially.

My sincere pity goes out to those guys out there who derive pleasure wiring recharge cards to people who they think are girls through social media. It is time to grow beyond that childishness.

It's time to have A LIFE and reputation. Let people know you for who you really are. Stop having different lifestyles that is subject to your environment. Build a integrity for yourself, people will definitely honour when they know that you don't live a pretentious life. One day it will pay off.

It's better you get an Original you and accept nothing else because pretty soon, that little hidden identity of yours will be made bare for all to see.
I live you with this: #Get_A_Life.

Job Wahala For Naija

Before now, I didn't really agree completely with people who said there is no job in Naija until now. I had always called home whenever I needed a few bucks and I had believed and still believe that I would definetely get a wonderful job as soon as I finish my program in school. But things are different now.

Some of you might have wondered where I have been for over a year.
Hmmm... That one na long story, school has got a truck load of stress. That same school has sent me back here again on my blog. I'm currently on Industrial Training (I.T.) Like I said earlier, I never knew that getting a job (even once as small as a place for my I.T) would be that difficult.

So, yesterday I dressed up looking sharp. I wore a confirm "bling bling" trouser and a foreign shirt to match (I don't even know the name of the designer, lol). My shoes were carefully polished, one would have thought that it was a mirror because it was shining like black crystals. I didn't forget to wear my socks this time.

If I'm not wrong, I spent quite a number of minutes of my hairs. I applied different hair creams on it just to make it cool. My face was smooth like a normal "fine boy" that I am, but sha, I had to add extra powder.

With a few accessories and my wallet at my back pocket, not forgetting my phone and ear piece, I marched out of the house.

The long and short of it all was that I trekked like a mad man through the streets of Ikeja like never before. You can never really appreaciate the importance of a cold ten naira pure water until the faithful Sun shines madly on you.

The companies I visited were not even encouraging. The confusion I was thrown in made me use a wrong pin on my ATM card and it got blocked. Had it been God wasn't faithful, hmmm...make I no talk.

By the time I got home, my powdered face had changed into a pool of sweat. Even the shoe wasn't as black as it was when I left home. That was when I realised that your dress code won't guarantee you a job in Naija

It's well sha... The job hunt will continue tomorrow, perhaps another location.
